UNSTOPPABLE: Career Guidance amplification thru SHS marketing
To intensify information dissemination on PSU Lingayen’s program offerings, the Guidance and Admission Office rolled out a school-tour Career Guidance Marketing from May 24- 27.
The marketing team visited schools from neighboring towns: Mangatarem, Labrador, Aguilar, Bugallon, and Dagupan, to distribute flyers informing target students on various PSU’s brandings.
“We are doing this info-dissemination program to reach our target applicants and boost admission especially that this semester marks the debut of online application,” the guidance counselor said.
Aside from the Career Guidance, the office is also eyeing to conduct webinar with SHS students to orient them on university admission procedure and discuss some agenda which includes scholarship grants, student’s activities and projects, and best practices to attract aspiring students.
“This is a response to the current pandemic situation, showing that we are unstoppable. With this, we are expecting to increase student applicants this year,” Ms. Fernandez added.
PSU-LC also has ‘kiosk assist’ inside the campus premise for students who do not have internet access, separately with the face-to-face submission of requirements.
Online application, CAT postponement, among new admission procedure
Gone are the days when students will hurdle a long-circling line for college application as the university adheres to new admission scheme in response to the CoVID pandemic adverse effects.
Last April 8, the Admission and Guidance Office announced the requirements and processes for college admission for the school year 2021-2022.
From the new scheme, there is no College Admission Test (CAT) to avoid face-to-face contact with examinees in view of the Commission on Higher Education advisory.
In lieu with the CAT, the admittance will base on the General Point Average from Grade 11 (for graduating) and Grade 12 (for graduates) report cards, basis for admission in board and non-board courses.
Aside from having no examination, an online application was also implemented where applicants are tasked to fill entries with personal information and to submit requirements in a pdf/jpeg form.
For those who wish to apply, you can access the link on official PSU website at psu.edu.ph, by clicking student services and admission portal to go directly to: admission.psu.edu.ph.
After submitting all the responses, the office will filter the information of aspiring LCians to identify who will be qualified for board or non-board programs. Qualified applicants will be posted thru official Facebook of Lingayen Campus.
The application will end on June 30. /mmpd
