FOR THE PAST MONTHS, the Office of the Vice President for Research, Extension, and Innovation headed by Dr. Paulo V. Cenas has been diligently profiling Pangasinan’s salt industry. As a result, the establishment of the Advanced Salt Innovation (ASIN) Center was conceptualized to revitalize the industry towards sustainable and inclusive economic growth in Region 1.
Further, this proposal will house state-of-the-art facilities and equipment for salt production and innovation.
VP Cenas presented the proposal for the construction of a new research and development center at PSU Alaminos City to the officials of the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources- Region 1 (BFAR-R01) led by Dr. Rosario Segundina Gaerlan, Regional Director on Thursday (March 4).
Enjoined the meeting were Dr. Dexter R. Buted, University President, and the leading contributors of the project namely Dr. Larry Santos (Director, Research and Development), Dr. Francis Argente (Director, Extension Services) and Dr. Catalina Platon (Director, Innovation Support)./jjdz
