In honor of the 123rd Philippine Civil Service Anniversary, Philippine State University – SM (PSU-SM) launched a series of community-building and environmentally focused activities, aligning with this yearโ€™s theme, “Transforming Public Service in the Next Decade: Honing Agile and Future-Ready Servant Heroes.” This decade-long celebration encourages public servants to become adaptable leaders prepared to serve the nation with resilience and foresight.

The kick-off celebration featured tree planting at PSU-SM’s greenhouse, followed by a spirited Zumba session at the Sen. Leticia R. Shahani Conventional Hall (SLRSCH). These events, led by PSU-SM Campus Executive Director Dr. Honorio L. Cascolan and supported by deans and department heads, served as a meaningful way to engage faculty and staff in activities that promote both wellness and environmental responsibility.

This initiative also aligns with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 17, which focuses on partnerships for achieving sustainability, and SDG 3, which advocates for good health and well-being. By involving the PSU-SM community in tree planting, the institution fosters a stronger commitment to sustainability and resilience. Additionally, the Zumba session emphasized the importance of physical well-being, building a foundation for a healthier workforce capable of adapting to future challenges.

Through these actions, PSU-SM contributes to long-term sustainable management and highlights the significance of an engaged and active civil service. The universityโ€™s efforts exemplify its commitment to the transformative goals of the Philippine Civil Service, setting an example for fostering a proactive, resilient, and forward-looking public service. https://www.facebook.com/share/p/Has2qDQjPyFez5md/
