TO A PERSON who sees at hand the struggles of Pangasinan State University students in attending online classes, it is a realization to give free learning gadgets to aid them in their virtual learning.
This became a reality for Pangasinan Vice Governor Mark Ronald DG. Lambino who is also a part-time faculty of Public Administration Department, as he donated 150 tablets to Pangasinan State University-Lingayen Campus this March 25 (Thursday) in support to the conduct of the online classes amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
Said program of Vice Gov. Lambino is a result of his experiences handling online classes with PSU students wherein some of his students have been utilizing only one gadget for two.
In his sharing, he said that he understood the problems encountered by the students especially on internet connectivity and availability of the learning materials.
As a teacher who is teaching Parliamentary Procedures and Proceedings for two years, he noted that attending virtual class which is an upshot of the current pandemic, is indeed a challenge for students who do not have learning gadgets like cellphone, tablets or laptops.
“We are very grateful that our government is always with us, supporting every endeavor that we take. We know that this pandemic is really challenging but with their support like this program, we will get through and move forward from it,” said by Dr. Lorna G. Urbiztondo, Executive Director.
The free tablets were received by Dr. Urbiztondo together with College Deans and some campus officials at the Faculty Lounge, Administration Building.
Aside from the tablets, Vice Gov. Lambino is also distributing other support learning materials like risograph, photocopier Xerox machines, printers and others equipment to elementary and high school to maintain even the modular and blended classes.
Moreover, the Vice Governor promised to support the university by giving additional learning tablets and other resources needed by the students and faculty members. /mmpd
