In celebration of the 2021 World Teacher’s Day, Pangasinan State University-Alaminos City Campus (PSU-ACC) represented by Dr. Gloria M. Ducut, was interviewed in “Alaminos City Para Sa Lahat”, a radio program by the City Government of Alaminos on October 5, 2021.
Dr. Ducut, Associate Professor IV, former Dean of the College of Business and Technology, presently the Coordinator for Income Generating Projects with more than 15 years in the teaching profession, shared her teaching experiences and words of inspiration in the program. In a nutshell, her talk focused on how she sees the teaching profession as a fulfilling job through the years because as a teacher, one can touch the lives of the Filipino youth by inspiring them to be the best that they can be, lead them to the right track, and attain success in their respective journeys.
Inspiring words for the aspiring teachers were given by Dr. Ducut elaborating on the feeling of being a teacher, that it is more precious than any material thing. That if one loves to teach, one will never feel as if it is a burden. As for the qualities needed by aspiring teachers, Dr. Ducut expounded on patience, passion, and the love for the profession. Dr. Ducut also delivered some inspiring words for the parents to continue to support their children all throughout their academic endeavors since what all teachers and parents alike want is success for “THEIR” children; given that teachers are the second parents of students. For the students, Dr. Ducut advised them to continue to strive for success, cherish the opportunity of being able to study, and always remember that they are the inspiration of teachers in providing quality education especially during these trying times.
More than ever, PSU-ACC is equipped with passionate and competent teaching workforce, committed to develop and produce future professionals and individuals, capable of meeting the needs of industry, public service, and civil society.
