Employees of PSU Binmaley Campus wear purple shirts as they join the Purple Mondays that signifies support for women’s empowerment and gender equality. This movement is part of the Gender and Development activity of the University as we celebrate the Women’s Month Celebration. According to Memorandum no. 024 s. 2021, the PSU employees are encouraged to wear purple shirts every Monday for the whole month of March.
As to the Presidential Proclamation no. 224, 227 and Republic act no. 6949 declared the month of March as National Women’s Month Celebration with the 2017-2022 theme “We Make Change Work for Women’ and the focus for NWMC 2021 is “Juana Laban sa Pandemya: Kaya!”
According to PCW, this year’s Women’s Month Celebration focuses on women’s participation in battling the pandemic as well as discussing gender issues exacerbated by the pandemic. It is the time to deliver deep into the gender issues that emerged or are more felt during the health crisis, feature women who thrived despite the circumstances, and share support systems and government programs that address women’s issues and concerns.
For this celebration the Campus Gender and Development Office, headed by Ms. Gina S. Millamina, will conduct a series of activities such as webinar for students, online advocacy contest and “serbisyo para kay Juana”
