PSU SM conducts first virtual SSC election
“Leadership is a responsibility that requires passion and dedication to serve.”
Indeed, the quoted line above refers to the recently concluded first virtual Supreme Student Council Election of Pangasinan State University-Sta. Maria Campus held on November 5, 2021 via MS Teams. To ensure the quality of service in the Student Council and to elect new set of Officers, this year’s election was special as it was done virtually despite the constraints of pandemic in every academic institution. which shows the resiliency and adaptability of PSUnians to the current situation.
Two Party Banners have shown their resiliency and adaptability as they were able to maximize their campaign strategies even in the virtual world. The said Parties were led by two equally competent fourth year Bachelor of Secondary major in English students, namely: Raphael G. Dela Cruz of BTS MEAL Party, and Edrin Derick C. Boncille of PARTY Party.
Mr. Dela Cruz garnered the highest vote and elected as the new President of the Supreme Student Council for the Academic Year 2021-2022. Here are the newly-elected officers who garnered the highest vote in their respective position: Grace A. Rapisura, Executive Vice President; Wilfredo G. Dato, Vice President for Communciation; Leonardo Otanes, Vice President for Projects and Activities; Ahmed Abu Mohammed, Vice President for Students’ Rights and Welfare; Rosalie Carganillo, Auditor; Maragrita Lovidad and Mylene Sabado, Business Managers; Jesus Gallardo and Sonia Barlongo, Public Relation Officers; Philip Balmes, 4th Year Representative; Kristine Marinas, 3rd Year Representative, Jhon Navarro, 2nd Year Representative, and; Mary Joy Lopez, 1st Year Representative.
All the students actively participated on the said activity and have shown their resiliency in response to the current situation.
