Despite the ongoing outbreak of Covid19, Pangasinan State University Sta. Maria Campus’ income generating projects still continue to flourish. It is known that the said institution is the highest contributor in Income Generating Project (IGP) in all the campuses of PSU.
The renovated CBC which is now called Sen. Leticia Ramos Shahani Convention Hall (SLRSCH) caters various events and celebrations for its rental service. The Space Rental provides the biggest income for this quarter with an income of 174, 073. Moreover, the Pangasinan State University – Pangasinan Postharvest Handling and Processing Center (PSU-PPHPC) is continuously offering services for its clienteles, specifically on solar drying, warehousing/space rental. This project has a cash balance of ₱668,776.80 as of March 31,2021.
Marked as being the Center of Excellence in Agriculture, PSU- Sta. Maria Campus’ animal production such as native swine, goatery and buffalo projects give positive profits notwithstanding the pandemic. On the other hand, the crop production contributes also a significant return. The newly established Watermelon Production shown a positive result. This project was started last December 2020 and generated an income of more or less Twenty Thousand Pesos. The fruit production has an outstanding cash balance of ₱136,003.35 during the first quarter of 2021.
Furthermore, the Pangasinan State University – Mushroom Research and Development Center (PSU-MRDC) has an outstanding income as well. The center produces quality spawns of Volvariella and Pleurotus and recently specializing on the production of Yanagi mushroom.
The IGPs of the campus is impossible to realize without the ceaseless effort of the Prof. Ronel Ali B. Omolida, the IGP Coordinator.
