To outline quality management system standard, a training-workshop/writeshop was conducted with University and Campus Officials regarding the Educational Organizations Management System (ISO 21001:2018-EOMS) on June 28-29 via Zoom.
All requirements of ISO 21001:2018 are generic and intended to be applicable to any organization that uses a curriculum to support the development of competence through teaching, learning or research, regardless of the type, size or method of delivery.
The event was organized by the Office of the Vice President for Quality Assurance headed by Dr. Elbert Galas and PSU Top Management to gear up university units in crafting a synchronized, effective, and sutainable educational framework.
Engr. Angelica Fraginal of the ACF Consultancy and Training Services piloted the discussion and writeshop on the enhancement/development of EOMS manuals, chiefly centered on documentation requirements which outline: interested party requirements, EOMS Policy, EOMS Objectives, Overall EOMS Process, EOMS Plan, Risk Assessment.
ISO 21001:2018 specifies requirements for a management system for educational organizations (EOMS) when such an organization needs to demonstrate its ability to support the acquisition and development of competence through teaching, learning, or research.
In addition, the management system aims to enhance the satisfaction of learners, other beneficiaries, and staff through the effective application of its EOMS, including processes for improvement of the system and assurance of conformity to the requirements of learners and other beneficiaries.
With the revisit and enhancement of the current processes, the university will be equipped with the utmost quality management in accordance with the International Organization for Standardization.
