With erosion of faith and trust in government recognized as a challenge by the national administration, the Government Quality Management Program (GQMP) aims to make services accessible, convenient, and pleasant to the transacting public. Moreover, one of the objectives of the program is to improve the workplace quality and organization of the national government agencies.
Thus, the Development Academy of the Philippines (DAP) is organizing a capability building program on GQMP focusing on 5S Quality Workplace. The DAP generally seeks to empower local government units, national agencies, and state universities and colleges to use quality workplace standards/visual control standards as one of the means to contribute in achieving quality workplace environment for both the employees and the transacting public.
The Pangasinan State University Alaminos City Campus was chosen as one of the beneficiary agencies of the program in the country. The capability building program includes activities such as:
- Seminar on 5S
- Training of Trainers on 5S Quality Workplace
- Training Course on 5S Audio
To familiarize the selected government agencies on the program, an orientation was conducted by the DAP through its Productivity and Development Center last November 9, 2021. The attendees from the Campus were Dr. Renato Salcedo, Campus Executive Director; Dr. Jenylyn Oboza, Coordinator for Human Resources Management and Development; Ms. Shyeleen Nunez, Coordinator for Quality Assurance; Mr. Levi Jethro Balgua, Campus Executive Secretary; and Mrs. Luisa Andrea Junio, Campus Librarian.
