To enhance research and income-generating projects, a benchmarking visit was conducted by the Agusan del Sur State College of Agriculture and Technology (ASSCAT) to Pangasinan State University-Sta. Maria Campus on December 1, 2023.
The visit aimed to gather insights and knowledge from the successful projects implemented by PSU-SM, specifically the Moringa Germplasm Conservation and Collection Project, Mushroom Innovation and Technology Center, and DTI-SSF.
The benchmarking visit was attended by three faculty and staff members from ASSCAT, namely Mr. Berud A. Oliver Jr., Mr. Kemberly L. Canobas, and Mr. Raymond F. Gabica. They were accompanied by the CEO of Japan-Philippines Moringa, Ma’am Genera O. Matsuoka, along with her staff members, Ms. Ronalene Navarro, and Ms. Rhea Mariรฑas. The delegation received assistance from Dr. Oliver C. Caasi and Mr. Jun Marc Gumapos during their visit.
Apart from the project visits, discussions were held regarding future research and training collaborations between PSU and ASSCAT, including the potential organic-certification of the PSU-SM Moringa Farm next year, which will enable the marketing of moringa raw materials produced by farmer-beneficiaries. https://www.facebook.com/share/p/Tgk3i7LWgf1Qfmpd/
