The event was spearheaded by the staff of PSU-Sta. Maria Campus under the leadership of their Campus Executive Director, Dr. Oliver C. Caasi. They were joined in this endeavor by the dedicated members of the Pangasinan Native Tree Enthusiasts, Inc., led by their Founder and President, Forester Celso S. Salazar.

This productive partnership provided a unique opportunity to enrich the local ecosystem with the planting of the highly valued Agarwood tree (Aquilaria malaccensis), renowned as one of the world’s most expensive woods. This initiative directly contributes to global sustainability efforts, demonstrating a firm commitment to advancing Sustainable Development Goal 13 (Climate Action) through carbon sequestration and SDG 15 (Life on Land) by promoting biodiversity, restoring forest habitats, and combating land degradation.
