On April 6, Wednesday, Pangasinan State University Binmaley Campus, led by Campus Executive Director Dr. Roy C. Ferrer, held a Stakeholders’ Forum to present the plan and address concerns about the purviews of the limited face-to-face classes.
According to Dr. Ferrer, the forum was held to emphasize that the campus officials had thoroughly prepared for the April 25 limited Face-to-Face. He added that it is important that the stakeholders know about the preparation of the campus.
As the CED talked with the attendees, he stated, “We are here doing this program to inform you that our campus has always prepared for this event.”
He also addressed how effective the learning process was in a face-to-face environment.
The College Deans presented the cyclical student shift schedule where students will attend classes inside the campus based on their subjects that fall every Tuesday and Thursday. Also, the first, second, third, and fourth years are expected to attend the campus in the first, second, third, and fourth weeks of the month, respectively. The schedule during online classes will be followed and a maximum of 30 students will be accommodated in each class to ensure social distancing. Students and parents have also been told that flexible learning can be used by students who can’t afford to go to campus.
Meanwhile, classrooms and facilities have already been prepared for the student’s arrival. According to the Campus Administrative Officer, Mr. Jonathan Jose, the school campus is equipped with different signage and directions that will lessen confusion for the students. He also added that offices on the campus have prepared thermal scanners and alcohol. He also emphasized the one-way traffic/path, which will remind the students to follow the correct signage and directions.
The College Nurse, Ms. Fremela Urbano, has also discussed the University Health Protocol, Maintenance, Cleaning, Sanitation, and Disinfections. She further informed us what the action of the campus would be during the limited face-to-face. It has also been stressed that vaccination cards and sanitation kits are important in face-to-face classes.
The Stakeholders’ Forum was attended by various persons, including the non-teaching and teaching staff, college deans and chairpersons, the Binmaley LGU, represented by Mr. Antonio Royeca, parents, alumni, and students.
Dr. Ferrer also hoped that the Binmaley LGU would grant the campus its Seal of Approval for the implementation of the face-to-face modality.
After the speakers have presented their topics, it is followed by a discussion of the frequently asked questions. Dr. Ferrer, together with the college deans and chairpersons, also entertained the concerns of the students and parents.
