On October 15, 2025, the PSU-Sta. Maria Campus College of Agriculture launched a comprehensive initiative, “𝐒𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐎𝐫𝐞𝐠𝐚𝐧𝐨 𝐅𝐚𝐫𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐒𝐲𝐫𝐮𝐩 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠: 𝐅𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐒𝐨𝐢𝐥 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 𝐭𝐨 𝐀𝐧𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐥 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡,” at Batchelor West, Natividad, Pangasinan. The event commenced with an opening prayer led by 𝐌𝐬. 𝐀𝐠𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐚 𝐁𝐚𝐲𝐚𝐮𝐚 and welcome remarks from 𝐏𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫 𝐋𝐞𝐨 𝐂𝐚𝐨𝐢𝐥𝐞.

𝐃𝐫. 𝐑𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐨 𝐑. 𝐆𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐢𝐚, 𝐃𝐞𝐚𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐠𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐀𝐠𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞, delivered an inspirational message and later guided participants through the fundamentals of planting oregano. The training provided a thorough overview of the oregano value chain. 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐟. 𝐆𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐂. 𝐂𝐨𝐛𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐨 addressed the crucial aspects of packaging and marketing the finished product, Oregano Syrup, while 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐟. 𝐂𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐑𝐚𝐦𝐚 explained the importance of 𝐒𝐨𝐢𝐥 𝐀𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐲𝐬𝐢𝐬 𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐨𝐢𝐥 𝐓𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐊𝐢𝐭 (𝐒𝐓𝐊).

A practical demonstration on the processing of 𝐎𝐫𝐞𝐠𝐚𝐧𝐨 𝐒𝐲𝐫𝐮𝐩 was conducted by 𝐌𝐫. 𝐑𝐡𝐞𝐲𝐬𝐭𝐞 𝐌. 𝐍𝐢𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐚𝐬 together with PSU-SM students. Concluding the technical sessions, 𝐃𝐫. 𝐀𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐃. 𝐃𝐚𝐬𝐮𝐠𝐨 highlighted the significant benefits of oregano syrup as a nutritional supplement for animal health.

This initiative stands as a testament to PSU-Sta. Maria Campus’s commitment to innovative and sustainable agricultural practices.
